Until recently, most window films that rejected heat were tinted dark, used metal or were highly reflective. 3M not only invented window film, but was the first to develop an optically clear window film that used nano-technology instead of metals. Nano-technology works with materials that are over a thousand times smaller than the width of a hair. This technology allowed 3M to create a patented window film with hundreds of layers that is less than the thickness of a Post-it® Note.

Reflectivity Lower than Glass
From the inside, traditional window films make it difficult to see outside, especially at night when interior lights are on. In the daytime, the outside reflection tends to act and look like a mirror.
The 3M Prestige Window Films use a metal-less nano-technology that allows your windows to remain transparent with no mirror-like effect.
